Holiday Gifts Lawyers Might Want to Receive

I just can’t ignore two new sources of information on gifts lawyers might actually enjoy receiving. The first was brought to my attention by Lisa Solomon, an attorney who, with her husband (also a lawyer), recently launched The Billable Hourâ„¢ Company, which sells watches and desk clocks that divide the hour into six-minute increments—the same way lawyers bill their time. I just can’t imagine a more relevant gift for attorneys to receive! And it’s a lot less hokey than the “deadbeat client ashes” jar some credenzas sport.

My colleague, Reid Trautz, has published his first-ever 2005 Holiday Gift Guide for Lawyers. As he states, it’s his best ever! Seriously though, Reid has pared done thousands of choices into a few which are pretty darn interesting. Of course, the gifts he cites are good not just for lawyers, but for clients as well.

One item Reid mentions in his post is one which I have been meaning to put on my blog for months, but “serious” issues always seem to have gotten in the way. This belongs in the category of “for those with too much money to spend . . .”. We’re talking about custom created hardwood or stone monitors, mice, and keyboards, folks. Wood Contour offers 175 different finishes. Creations which will make a statement to anyone who visits your office, and affirm to you daily you are among the most successful in your profession.
